The article raises the issue of the need to study plastic anatomy as the basis of academic drawing for students of higher educational institutions. The basic concepts of “anatomy”, “plastic anatomy”, “drawing”, “drawing”, “academic drawing” are considered. The need to study the educational components “plastic anatomy” and “drawing”, which are important for a student artist, is emphasized, and the introduction of selective components “anatomical drawing” and “constructive drawing” is proposed to deepen their assimilation. The authors emphasize that currently there is a problem of a lack of high-quality reference and educational and methodological literature for the successful assimilation of knowledge on plastic anatomy and academic drawing, written in Ukrainian. The possibility of using multimedia textbooks, computer technologies for teaching and the possibility of studying anatomy using 3D anatomical atlases, created both for students of medical higher educational institutions and for students of art specialties, is noted. It is emphasized that the educational component Plastic Anatomy is basic, its teaching should take place in the first year of study, before working with nature in academic drawing. It is important to divide the course into several stages, among which there are both theoretical and practical aspects of studying the educational component. The article emphasizes that an important aspect of studying plastic anatomy is consolidating theoretical knowledge through drawing. During practical classes, it is important for students to make sketches from anatomical tables, draw anatomical models – mannequins, plaster casts and draw a human figure. The article considers the concept of "synergy" as an enhancement of the action of factors of educational components, such as Plastic Anatomy and Drawing, which act together as elements of one system in mastering the knowledge and skills of future artists of fine arts.
