PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN THE FIELD OF FINE ARTS: THEORETICAL DIMENSIONS

Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the essence and content of the concepts of the «competency-based approach», «competence», and «professional competence» in the context of professional training of future specialists in the field of fine arts. It is demonstrated that the relevance of the problem of forming professional competence is determined by the processes of reforming contemporary art education, the increasing demands of the labor market, and the societal need for highly qualified, creative, mobile, and competitive specialists capable of self-development and professional self-realization. The results of contemporary domestic scientific and pedagogical research are summarized and systematized, revealing the significance of the competency-based paradigm for updating the content of art education and ensuring its correspondence to current sociocultural and professional challenges. Special attention is paid to the analysis of various approaches to defining the professional competence of a fine arts specialist as an integrative construct that combines artistic and theoretical knowledge, practical skills, creative abilities, value orientations, and readiness for independent professional activity. The scientific novelty of the study lies in clarifying the content of the concept of «professional competence» of a future specialist in the field of fine arts and substantiating its role as a system-forming factor in the professional training of artist-teachers. The article identifies the role of the competency-based approach as a methodological foundation for organizing the educational process in higher art education institutions and outlines its influence on the content, forms, and methods of professional training of future fine arts specialists.The generalized research findings made it possible to reveal the importance of forming professional competence as a key component of training future artist-teachers, focused on the development of their creative individuality and readiness for successful professional activity. Prospects for further research are associated with the development and implementation of practice-oriented technologies for forming the professional competence of future specialists in the field of fine arts.
